Tips on the purchase of second – hand yachts
 

The following text contains some handy information regarding the acquisition of a second hand yacht.


• Prices shown for each yacht are excluding VAT. If applicable, the percentage of the VAT is 19% and is to be added to the yacht s sale price.

• The yachts are offered “as is”. However, any small or large scale alterations or additions can be discussed with works carried out by our technical team.

• If we come to a sale agreement, the buyer will be asked to make a down payment of 5 – 8 %, depending on the value of the yacht. The Bill of Sale, which is the Sale Agreement, varies from case to case and is to be signed by both parties (Seller and Buyer). Following this, we undertake the responsibility to issue the Deletion Certificate from the local Ship Registry.

• In case of interest, we offer financing programs. We co-operate with ALPHA BANK and GENIKI BANK, who offer the most flexible financing programs.

• Upon request we can help with the insurance of the yacht. Our insurance providers, PANTAENIUS and GOTHAER are professional companies with world- wide reputations.

• If required, we can organise for berthing of the yacht in Greece or Turkey. A safe permanent mooring place is important and can be organized in all main islands of Greece, such as Corfu, Lefkas, Kos, Rhodos) or Turkey (Gocek, Marmaris, Bodrum, Finike).

• For transportation, whether by sea or land, we can organise this service either with our professional skippers or transport trucking companies. Depending on the destination, the terms and prices will vary.

The majority of the yachts listed in this web site are fully maintained by our technical team. For this reason we are able to provide to potential buyers the following:

1. A confirmation of non-existing osmosis
2. A report regarding the maintenance history of the yacht from the time of acquisition and
3. A report of damages –if any-.
A potential buyer is welcome to appoint an independent surveyor to inspect the yacht at any time at his own expenses..

In case of interest, we can also charter the yacht. The majority of the yachts listed on this site, can be chartered for a certain period of time each year, covering the whole or part of the running expenses of the yacht, such as insurance, marina fees and maintenance. However, please note that this possibility is offered only for Greece and Turkey. For the chartering of the yachts our co-operators are NOMICOS YACHTS.

* The VAT is applied on Sale Agreements, when the Buyer is an EU resident and is to be paid in the country of the yacht s registration. For more information on this subject, our experienced Sellers are available at your request.
